Philosophy

Amici's philosophy is about the pleasure of enjoying a gathering around the table to share traditional Italian dishes,
whether for a casual dinner, an indulgent lunch or a celebratory party.
Amici is a place where you can show up be welcomed.
It doesn't matter whether you arrive early or late, smart or casual
at Amici you'll be treated like a friend.
Our goal is to combine the warmth and genuine hospitality of a classic Italian trattoria
with our passion for sourcing the best organic and imported ingredients,
and local seafood fresh from the Andaman Sea.

Chef Davide Spighi

Who is Chef Davide Spighi?

I grew up in Northeast Italy, not far from Venice, where my mother came from. My family is a mix of Northern and Southern Italians (my father is Sicilian). From a very young age I had the chance to learn about the two different kinds of cuisine that come from these areas, and I developed a knowledge of the ingredients and way of cooking from both regions.

I always had a passion for cooking. I can remember myself trying to help my mother in the kitchen when I was very young.

I attended a hospitality college in the city of Udine where I got a degree specialized in Italian cuisine.

I like cooking everything and I always treat the ingredients that I use with a lot of respect. For me, the most important thing is making my customers happy.
